Founder & Chairman
Mr Ola Olabinjo
A man who gave quietly for years, and then built something so the giving wouldn't stop with him.
In his words
Why we started this
“I have always believed that if you have something, you should share it. This Foundation is how my family does that, in a way that can carry on.”
Mr Ola Olabinjo, Founder & Chairman
For years I gave quietly, to people and places where the need was plain to see. It worked, but it depended on me being there. I wanted something steadier than that.
So we built the Foundation, and we built it to last. We keep good records, we spend carefully, and we try to remember that behind every figure on a page there is a real person whose life we hope to make a little easier.
A little background
Where he comes from
We're still putting together a fuller account. For now, here's the short version.
He was raised to work hard, live modestly, and look out for people who had less. Giving was never a grand gesture in his house; it was just something you did when you could.
Over time, the help he was giving grew, and so did the sense that it should be organised properly. The Foundation is the result: a family-run effort to keep helping, carefully and for the long term, across Nigeria.
What he believes
The things that guide him
Giveback
Share what you have
If you've been given more than you need, some of it belongs to other people.
Dignity
Treat people well
Everyone we help is a person first, not a case or a number.
Stewardship
Be careful with money
Give generously, but account for every naira along the way.
Faith
Faith and family
The reason we do this, and the people who keep it going.
Legacy
Make it last
Build something that keeps helping long after any one of us has gone.
Integrity
Do it properly
Hold the work to a high standard, the same way you'd expect of anyone else.
Looking ahead
Built to keep going
The hope is simple: that this outlives him. That the communities it works with, the partners who join in, and the family who will one day run it can all count on it being here, and being done right.
